Car of the Day 11/28/18

Today’s car of the day is this ’68 Mercury Cyclone that was at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. The Mercury Cyclone is a car that was built on the same platform as the Ford Torino. The engine of this one is a 7 liter V8, but I’m not sure how powerful it is. The transmission is a 4-speed manual. It was made as a tribute to Bud Moore and Tiny Lund, and it’s owned by Rich Moore.

Today’s car of the day is Jan Thompson’s ’63 Corvette Stingray, and I saw it at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. This is from the C2 generation, which was made between 1962 and 1967 (model years between 1963 and 1967). This Corvette in particular is a dragster. I’m not sure what the engine is, how powerful it is, or what the transmission is. This Corvette can do the quarter mile in 7.16 seconds at 157.43 mph.

Today’s car of the day is this ’59 Chevy Impala that was at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. It’s from the second generation, which was made between 1958 and 1960 (model years between 1959 and 1960). The engine is a 5.7 liter V8 that produces 320 horsepower. The transmission is a 4-speed manual. It was driven by Junior Johnson, and it won the 1960 Daytona 500.
