Today’s car of the day is this 2007 Mustang GT Vortech Edition that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the first phase of the fifth generation, which was made between September of 2004 and December of 2008 (model years between 2005 and 2009). The Vortech Edition was unveiled at the 2006 SEMA Show, and only 100 were built. These were modded by Vortech Engineering and were sold by select Ford dealers. The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 515 horsepower. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $14,300.

In fact, only 20 of these were produced between 2003 and 2010. The engine is the LS7 (the same engine that’s in the C6 Corvette Z06), which is a 7 liter aluminum V8 that produces 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. This car can do 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of about 200 mph.

Production will start later this year, and the first model year will be 2019.
