Today’s car of the day is this 2018 Corvette ZR1 that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the C7 series, which has been in production since 2013 (the first model year was 2014). The ZR1 was unveiled at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show, and the convertible version was unveiled at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. The engine is the LT5, which is a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 that produces 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 7-speed manual. This car weighs 3,583 pounds since the chassis is an aluminum spaceframe. The front splitter and rear spoiler are carbon fiber. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 211 mph. The starting price of the ZR1 is $120,000.

Today’s car of the day is this ’67 Pontiac GTO that I saw at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. This is from the first generation, which was made between 1964 and 1967. The engine of this one is a 6.6 liter V8 that produces 360 horsepower and 438 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 4-speed manual.

Today’s car of the day is this ’96 Corvette Grand Sport that I saw at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the C4 generation, which was made between 1983 and 1996 (model years between 1984 and 1996). The Grand Sport was only made in 1996. The engine the LT4, which is a 5.7 liter V8 that produces 330 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds and has a top speed of 178 mph. Only 1,000 Grand Sports were made in 1996: 810 coupes and 190 convertibles.
