This is a 2005 Maybach 57 that was at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The Maybach 57 and 62 are luxury sedans that were made between April of 2002 and February of 2013. The engine is a 5.5 liter twin turbo M285 V12 that produces 542 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed automatic.
Today’s car of the day is this Mercedes-Maybach S600 that I saw in town yesterday. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been in production since 1972. This is from the sixth generation, which has been in production since June of 2013 (the first model year was 2014). The engine is a 6 liter twin turbo V12 that produces 520 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 9-speed automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph. The starting price of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is about $200,000.
