This is a ’67 Mercury Cougar XR7 that was at Streetside Classics Tampa in July of 2019. It’s from the first generation, which was made between 1967 and 1970. The engine of this one is a 4.7 liter V8 that produces 200 horsepower and 282 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 4-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 119 mph.
Today’s car of the day is this ’68 Mercury Cyclone that was at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. The Mercury Cyclone is a car that was built on the same platform as the Ford Torino. The engine of this one is a 7 liter V8, but I’m not sure how powerful it is. The transmission is a 4-speed manual. It was made as a tribute to Bud Moore and Tiny Lund, and it’s owned by Rich Moore.
