Today’s car of the day is this 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the third generation, which has been in production since 2008. The Demon was unveiled at the 2017 New York Auto Show, and even made it’s film debut in The Fate of the Furious. Tim Kuniskus is the man behind the project, and he presented the car while the song “Fuel” by Metallica was being played. The engine is a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 that produces 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. This car weighs 4,279 pounds since the chassis is unitary steel. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds. I’m not sure what the true top speed is because one source says that it’s 207 mph, and another says it’s 168 mph. This Demon was auctioned off for $143,000.

This is from the fourth phase of the first generation, which was made between 1970 and 1973 (model years between 1971 and 1973). The engine is a 5.8 liter Cleveland V8 that produces 266 horsepower and 301 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 4-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $17,050.

It’s from the second generation of the B-Body Charger, which was made between 1968 and 1970. The engine of this one is a 7.2 liter V8 that produces 375 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed Torqueflite automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 136 mph. This Charger was auctioned off for $82,500.

Today’s car of the day is this ’80 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Indy 500 Pace Car that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the second generation, which was made between 1970 and 1981. A total of 5,700 of the Pace Car Edition were made. This one in particular was owned by Burt Reynolds, and he was riding in it when I took this picture. The engine of this one is a 4.9 liter turbocharged V8 that produces 210 horsepower and 345 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed automatic. This Trans Am was auctioned off for $110,000, and the Smokey and the Bandit theme song was played after the car was auctioned off.

The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 510 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $47,300.

It’s from the first phase of the fifth generation, which was made between 2004 and 2009 (model years between 2005 and 2009). This is number 6 out of the 50 Sanderson’s Custom Tribute that were made. The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 425 horsepower. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $55,000.

This is from the fourth generation of the Firebird, which was made between 1993 and 2002. This is from the second half of the fourth generation, which was made between 1998 and 2002. The engine of this one is the LS1, which is a 5.7 liter V8 that produces 325 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 4-speed automatic, but it can also come with a 6-speed manual. This car has a top speed of 160 mph. This Trans Am sold for $30,250.
