Today’s car of the day is this 2016 Dodge Viper ACR that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the Phase VX, which was made between 2012 and 2017 (model years between 2013 and 2017). The concept for the ACR was unveiled at the 2014 SEMA Show, and it was made between 2015 and 2017. The engine is an 8.4 liter V10 that produces 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 206 mph. This car weighs 3,430 pounds since the body is made of carbon fiber and aluminum. The chassis is a steel tubular spaceframe backbone. The front splitter and rear spoiler are carbon fiber. This Viper was auctioned off for $134,200.

Today’s car of the day is this 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. This is from the third generation, which has been in production since 2008. The Hellcat has been in production since 2014 (the first model year was 2015). The engine is a 6.2 liter supercharged Hemi V8 that produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is an 8-speed automatic, but it can also come with a 6-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 199 mph. This Hellcat was auctioned off for $63,800.

Today’s car of the day is this 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the third generation, which has been in production since 2008. The Demon was unveiled at the 2017 New York Auto Show, and even made it’s film debut in The Fate of the Furious. Tim Kuniskus is the man behind the project, and he presented the car while the song “Fuel” by Metallica was being played. The engine is a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 that produces 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. This car weighs 4,279 pounds since the chassis is unitary steel. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds. I’m not sure what the true top speed is because one source says that it’s 207 mph, and another says it’s 168 mph. This Demon was auctioned off for $143,000.

This is from the fourth phase of the first generation, which was made between 1970 and 1973 (model years between 1971 and 1973). The engine is a 5.8 liter Cleveland V8 that produces 266 horsepower and 301 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 4-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $17,050.

The transmission of this one is a 3-speed Torqueflite automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 136 mph. This Charger was auctioned off for $82,500.

Today’s car of the day is this ’80 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Indy 500 Pace Car that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the second generation, which was made between 1970 and 1981. A total of 5,700 of the Pace Car Edition were made. This one in particular was owned by Burt Reynolds, and he was riding in it when I took this picture. The engine of this one is a 4.9 liter turbocharged V8 that produces 210 horsepower and 345 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed automatic. This Trans Am was auctioned off for $110,000, and the Smokey and the Bandit theme song was played after the car was auctioned off.

It’s based on the first phase of the fifth generation, which was made between September of 2004 and December of 2008 (model years between 2005 and 2009). Only 51 of the Roush P-51B were made. The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 510 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $47,300.

It’s from the first phase of the fifth generation, which was made between 2004 and 2009 (model years between 2005 and 2009). This is number 6 out of the 50 Sanderson’s Custom Tribute that were made. The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 425 horsepower. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $55,000.
