Car of the Day 6/1/18

Today’s car of the day is this 2007 BMW M6 that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. This is from the second generation, which was made between 2005 and 2010 (model years between 2006 and 2010). The M6 Convertible was unveiled at the 2006 British International Auto Show, and a total of 5,065 were built. The engine is a 5 liter V10 that produces 507 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 7-speed sequential. This car weighs 4,420 pounds since the chassis is unitary steel. This car does 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph (205 mph with the M Driver’s Package). This M6 was auctioned off for $16,500.

Today’s car of the day is this 2007 Mustang GT Vortech Edition that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the first phase of the fifth generation, which was made between September of 2004 and December of 2008 (model years between 2005 and 2009). The Vortech Edition was unveiled at the 2006 SEMA Show, and only 100 were built. These were modded by Vortech Engineering and were sold by select Ford dealers. The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 515 horsepower. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $14,300.

Today’s car of the day is this 2008 Mosler MT900S that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The Mosler MT900S is a very rare supercar. In fact, only 20 of these were produced between 2003 and 2010. The engine is the LS7 (the same engine that’s in the C6 Corvette Z06), which is a 7 liter aluminum V8 that produces 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. This car can do 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of about 200 mph.

Today’s car of the day is Craig Jackson’s Bugatti Veyron, and I saw it at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The Bugatti Veyron is a supercar that was made between 2005 and 2015. The 16.4 was made between 2005 and 2011. The engine is an 8 liter quad turbo W16 that produces 1,001 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 7-speed dual sequential gearbox. This car weighs 4,189 pounds since the body is carbon composite and the chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 253 mph. This Bugatti was also the only French car at the auction.

Today’s car of the day is this 2018 Ford GT that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The new Ford GT was unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, and is being made 2016 and 2020. A total of 1,000 will be built. The engine is a 3.5 liter twin turbo Ecoboost V6 that produces 647 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. This car weighs 3,054 pounds since the body panels are carbon fiber and the chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 216 mph. The starting price of the Ford GT is about $500,000, and only certain people will be allowed to buy them.

Today’s car of the day is this 2018 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels Edition that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the sixth generation of the Camaro, which has been in production since 2015 (the first model year was 2016). The Hot Wheels Edition is being made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hot Wheels, and only 2,500 are being built. The engine is the LT1, which is a 6.2 liter V8 that produces 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 6-speed manual.

Cars of the Day 4/25/18

Today’s car of the day is this 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO that I saw at Ferrari of Tampa Bay in December of 2017. The Ferrari 599 is a supercar that was made between 2006 and 2012. The GTO was made between 2010 and 2011. A total of 599 were built, and 125 of which came to the US. The engine is a 6 liter V12 that produces 661 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed semiautomatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 208 mph.
