Because of this, Volkswagen decided to mass produce the car. A total of 445,238 of these were made in Germany between 1955 and 1974. There are also 41,689 that were made in Brazil from 1962 to 1974. The engine of this one is a 1.2 liter flat-4 that produces 40 horsepower and 65 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 4-speed manual. The top speed is 75 mph. This Karmann Ghia was auctioned off for $26,950.
