Today’s car of the day is this 1970 Plymouth Superbird that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The Plymouth Superbird is a muscle car that’s based on the Plymouth Roadrunner. The Superbird was only produced in 1970 and is very similar to the ’69 Dodge Charger Daytona. Like the Charger Daytona, the Superbird was used in NASCAR. The engine of this one is a 7.2 liter V8 that produces 375 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic, but it can also come with a 4-speed manual. This car can do 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph. This car weighs 3,858 pounds since the chassis is unitary steel. This Superbird was auctioned off for $286,000.
