Today’s car of the day is this Mustang II Ghia that was at the 2013 Daytona Spring Show. The Mustang II is the second generation of the Mustang, which was made between 1973 and 1978 (model years between 1974 and 1978). The engine of this one is a 2.8 liter Cologne V6 that produces 105 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 12.9 seconds and has a top speed of 99 mph. The reason why the Mustang II wasn’t as powerful as its predecessor is because of the oil crisis of 1973, which caused automakers to build smaller and fuel efficient vehicles. The Mustang was one of many vehicles affected by this. The Mustang II also shares the same platform as the Ford Pinto.
