This is a ’57 Thunderbird that was at the 2020 Shops at Wiregrass Car & Truck Show. It’s from the first generation, which was made between 1955 and 1957. The engine of this one is a 5.1 liter Y-Block V8 that produces 245 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 9 seconds and has a top speed of 121 mph.

Although the second generation “square birds” far outsold the first generation I think it’s a shame Ford didn’t continue making this car a two-seater. Of course, hindsight is at least 20-20.
