This is a 2013 Terradyne Armored Vehicles Gurkha LAPV (light armored patrol vehicle) that was at the 2013 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. The Terradyne Gurkha is an armored SUV that’s been in production since 2011 and is manufactured in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. The engine is a 6.7 turbo diesel V8 that produces 330 horsepower and 750 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic. The top speed is 81 mph. This SUV weighs 16,000 pounds since the armor is B7/STANAG 2 armor and is capable of stopping 7.62 mm armor piercing bullets. The chassis is based on that of the Ford F-550. The Gurkha is mainly used by law enforcement and military personnel, but civilians can also buy them.
