Today’s car of the day is this 2001 Mustang Cobra that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the second phase of the first generation, which was made between 1999 and 2004. The engine is a 4.6 liter Modular V8 that produces 320 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 150 mph. This Mustang was auctioned off for $16,500.
Today’s car of the day is this 2005 Pontiac GTO that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the fourth generation of the GTO, which was made between 2004 and 2006. The engine is the LS2, which is a 6 liter V8 that produces 400 horsepower and 403 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 6-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 5 seconds and has a top speed of 162 mph. This GTO was auctioned off for $26,400.
Today’s car of the day is this ’80 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Indy 500 Pace Car that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. It’s from the second generation, which was made between 1970 and 1981. A total of 5,700 of the Pace Car Edition were made. This one in particular was owned by Burt Reynolds, and he was riding in it when I took this picture. The engine of this one is a 4.9 liter turbocharged V8 that produces 210 horsepower and 345 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed automatic. This Trans Am was auctioned off for $110,000, and the Smokey and the Bandit theme song was played after the car was auctioned off.

It’s based on the first phase of the fifth generation, which was made between September of 2004 and December of 2008 (model years between 2005 and 2009). Only 51 of the Roush P-51B were made. The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 510 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $47,300.

The engine is a 4.6 liter supercharged Modular V8 that produces 425 horsepower. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. This Mustang was auctioned off for $55,000.

The transmission of this one is a 4-speed automatic, but it can also come with a 6-speed manual. This car has a top speed of 160 mph. This Trans Am sold for $30,250.

The Superbird was only produced in 1970 and is very similar to the ’69 Dodge Charger Daytona. Like the Charger Daytona, the Superbird was used in NASCAR. The engine of this one is a 7.2 liter V8 that produces 375 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic, but it can also come with a 4-speed manual. This car can do 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph. This car weighs 3,858 pounds since the chassis is unitary steel. This Superbird was auctioned off for $286,000.
