Today’s car of the day is this ‘49 Chevy Styleline that was at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. The Chevy Deluxe is a line of luxury cars that was made between 1941 and 1952. This is from the second generation, which was made between 1949 and 1952. The engine of this one is a 3.5 liter straight-6 that produces 90 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 3-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 21.3 seconds and has a top speed of 73 mph.
Today’s car of the day is Jan Thompson’s ’63 Corvette Stingray, and I saw it at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. This is from the C2 generation, which was made between 1962 and 1967 (model years between 1963 and 1967). This Corvette in particular is a dragster. I’m not sure what the engine is, how powerful it is, or what the transmission is. This Corvette can do the quarter mile in 7.16 seconds at 157.43 mph.
