This is from the Series 2, which was made between 1968 and 1971. The engine is a 4.2 liter straight-6 that produces 207 horsepower and 283 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 4-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph.
Today’s car of the day is this ’68 Mustang that was at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. This is from the second phase of the first generation, which was made between August of 1966 and August of 1968 (model years between 1967 and 1968). Today’s car of the day is Jan Thompson’s ’63 Corvette Stingray, and I saw it at the 2018 Daytona Turkey Rod Run. This is from the C2 generation, which was made between 1962 and 1967 (model years between 1963 and 1967). This Corvette in particular is a dragster. I’m not sure what the engine is, how powerful it is, or what the transmission is. This Corvette can do the quarter mile in 7.16 seconds at 157.43 mph.

The Mustang II is the second generation of the Mustang, which was made between 1973 and 1978 (model years between 1974 and 1978). The engine of this one is a 2.8 liter Cologne V6 that produces 105 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. The transmission of this one is a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 12.9 seconds and has a top speed of 99 mph. The reason why the Mustang II wasn’t as powerful as its predecessor is because of the oil crisis of 1973, which caused automakers to build smaller and fuel efficient vehicles. The Mustang was one of many vehicles affected by this. The Mustang II also shares the same platform as the Ford Pinto.
