Today’s car of the day is this 2007 Maserati Quattroporte that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. This is from the fifth generation, which was made between 2002 and 2012 (model years between 2003 and 2012). The engine is a 4.2 liter V8 that produces 394 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 171 mph. This Maserati sold for $22,000.
Today’s car of the day is this 2016 Shelby Terlingua that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The Shelby Terlingua is a high performance variant of the Mustang. The engine is a 5 liter supercharged Coyote V8 that produces 750 horsepower. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. This car does 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. I’m not what the top speed is, but I think it’s at least 200 mph.
Today’s car of the day is this 2008 Mosler MT900S that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The Mosler MT900S is a very rare supercar. In fact, only 20 of these were produced between 2003 and 2010. The engine is the LS7 (the same engine that’s in the C6 Corvette Z06), which is a 7 liter aluminum V8 that produces 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. This car can do 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of about 200 mph.
Today’s car of the day is Craig Jackson’s Bugatti Veyron, and I saw it at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The Bugatti Veyron is a supercar that was made between 2005 and 2015. The 16.4 was made between 2005 and 2011. The engine is an 8 liter quad turbo W16 that produces 1,001 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 7-speed dual sequential gearbox. This car weighs 4,189 pounds since the body is carbon composite and the chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 253 mph. This Bugatti was also the only French car at the auction.

The McLaren 570S was unveiled at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, the Spider version was unveiled at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The 570S been in production since 2015. The engine is a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 that produces 570 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. This car does 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 204 mph. This car weighs 3,303 pounds since the chassis is a carbon fiber composite monocoque. The side skirts, front splitter, and side mirrors are carbon fiber. The starting price of the McLaren 570S Spider is $208,800.

The engine is a 5.2 liter twin turbo V12 that produces 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. This car does 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 200 mph. This car weighs 3,902 pounds since the chassis is a bonded aluminum spaceframe. The starting price of the DB11 Volante is $216,495.
Today’s car of the day is this 2018 Shelby GT350 that was at the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach. The engine is a 5.2 liter V8 that produces 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. This car can do 0-60 mph in about 4 seconds and tops out at about 180 mph, so it’s not as fast or as powerful as the 2013/2014 Shelby GT500. The starting price of the new Shelby GT350 is $55,940.

The new Ford GT was unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, and is being made 2016 and 2020. A total of 1,000 will be built. The engine is a 3.5 liter twin turbo Ecoboost V6 that produces 647 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. This car weighs 3,054 pounds since the body panels are carbon fiber and the chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 216 mph. The starting price of the Ford GT is about $500,000, and only certain people will be allowed to buy them.

The Demon was unveiled at the 2017 New York Auto Show, and even made it’s film debut in The Fate of the Furious. Tim Kuniskus is the man behind the project, and he presented the car while the song “Fuel” by Metallica was being played. The engine is a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 that produces 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. This car weighs 4,279 pounds since the chassis is unitary steel. This car does 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds. I’m not sure what the true top speed is because one source says that it’s 207 mph, and another says it’s 168 mph. The starting price of the Demon is $86,090, and 3,300 are being built. 3,000 are being sold in America, and the remaining 300 will be sold in Canada.
